Progressive Components Introduces New 
Needle Bearing Locks

Progressive Components announces the release of its new Needle Bearing Locks. These locks are designed to withstand the most demanding requirements in mold alignment, providing precise registration between the two halve of the tool.

Utilizing FrictionFree™ technology, Progressive’s new series incorporates precision needle bearing technology to provide consistent, smooth positioning. As the locks engage, the bearings provide additional lifting power with out metal-to-metal wear. In fact,

extensively tested by independent  sources, then thoroughly evaluated by leading molders, these locks have been proven to show virtually no wear after one million cycles. 

Competitively priced, Progressive’s Needle Bearing Locks are available in three sizes of Side Locks, two sizes of Top Locks, and two sizes of Metric Side Locks. They’re compatible with other industry standard sizes allowing for retrofitting onto existing molds, and CAD geometry is available in multiple formats for designing into new tools.

Prices begin from $180 for the smallest Side Lock to $235 for the largest Top Lock.  

Mold-Masters® Introduces Superior Side Gating 
Hot Runner System

Mold-Masters’ new Melt-Disk™ (patents pending) hot runner system provides simple, versatile horizontal hot tip processing for direct side gating applications. 

The key to Melt-Disk’s superior processing performance is the controlled heating element on the disk portion that ensures optimal heat control in the gate area. The disk acts as a “mini-manifold” in applying heat to the runners right up to the hot tip seals. The Melt- Disk’s unique expansion joint provides a leak-proof seal when heated yet is easily removed when cooled. 

Perfect for such parts as pipettes, syringe barrels and needle shields, the Melt-Disk delivers simultaneous side gating for two, four, six and eight parts per drop. 

This system is also available with tips angled at 0°, 30°, 45° and 60° from horizontal. 

The Melt- Disk is the first such system to be built exclusively with standard components for reduced lead times, ease of integration and fast global support.
