Progressive Components Introduces New Roller Pullers™  

Progressive Components announces the addition of its new Roller Pullers™, a simple and effective approach to controlling parting line sequences, engineered especially for mid-volume production runs targeted to perform beyond a million cycles. 

Progressive’s new Roller Pullers feature these advantages:    

  • Smooth, Friction Free, greaseless action ideal for cleanroom operations, or those with downstream paint operations where contamination is a concern

  • Spring ‘sight window’ for adjusting pull force

  • Mounting pattern compatible with industry standards

  • Competitively priced

In 3-plate molds, use the Roller Pullers to draw the “A plate” away from the “X plate”, exposing the runner.  For stripper plate molds, Roller Pullers are a means to retain a B side “X plate” or hold the cavity side plate while side actions are being pulled.  In addition to parting line sequence control, Roller Pullers can be used to pull double ejector plates, or to retain any other flowing mold plate.  Should “real world” conditions require additional pull force, tool room personnel are able to adjust pulling force up to 12-1/2 times the original setting using the spring sight window.

Moldflow Upgrades Control Offerings

Moldflow Corporation recently announced the availability of Altanium X and XE for injection molds.   

This next generation of Hot Runner Process Controls provides increased simplicity, higher zone configurations and enhanced functionality all on a platform that provides conformity with the EU Hazardous Substances Free Directive (RoHS).

The Altanium X series contains all of the features and functionality of currently shipping systems in a smaller, more compact footprint. These features include standard 15 amp per zone capacity, full thermocouple isolation, mold diagnostics, 2-leg switching and fuses for each leg, auto tune algori-thms, thermocouple rewiring and slaving capability.

The Altanium XE series adds extended capabilities including, 0.1 degree temperature control resolution, expanded mold error detec-tion, on-screen board diagnostics, and a longer, 3 year warranty.

The Altanium X and XE are fully integrated control systems. Either can be configured using Moldflow’s patented MoldMount™ technology which eliminates power and thermocouple connection cable to and from the mold.

Mold-Masters® Introduces the Accu-Line™ In-line Pneumatic Valve Gate 

Mold-Masters Limited will officially launch the new Accu-Line™ in-line pneumatic valve gate at Fakuma 2006. The Accu-Line is the next step in the evolution of single drop valve gated hot runners.

The unique features of the Accu-Line™ in-line pneumatic valve gate makes it ideal for single cavity molds, plus prototype molds, for evaluating cavity plastic flow characteristics before building a production tool. Also ideal for mid size parts where only 1 cavity sits in the press, the Accu-Line™ supports the Centi, Deci and Hecto family of Mold-Masters nozzles.

“Our engineering department has created a truly innovative product featuring a compact space saving diameter, without sacrificing its superior “molding machine to gate” heat profile present in all Mold-Masters nozzles” announced Patrick Bennett, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mold-Masters. “The Accu-Line™ can also be retrofitted to Accu-Lever™ assemblies with minimal modifications. The drop-in ‘plug-and-play’ style assembly eliminates the need for additional plate drilling, thereby becoming a very cost effective solution for our customers.”

Other features of the Accu-Line™ include up to 60 mm reduced clamp plate height, and simplified valve pin maintenance, with a valve-pin anti rotation option. The pneumatics remain intact, eliminating contamination potential during manufacturing and maintenance.
