Citra Cling Mold Cleaner Foams and Clings to Even Vertical Surfaces  

Citra Cling Mold and Metal thick foaming cleaner from Slide Products, Inc., is an excellent cleaning agent that clings to even vertical surfaces. A water-based cleaner that is 99% biodegradable, it is safe to use on painted surfaces and plastic parts (pre-testing is recommended). 

This powerful industrial cleaner contains no chlorinated solvents, no petroleum distillates and no glycol ethers. Its non-toxic, high-density foam removes mold releases, dirt, oil and greases from almost any surface. 

This mold and metal cleaning aerosol product is formulated with a natural orange citrus solvent (d’limonene) that cleans most surfaces. This feature allows the product to hang on vertical surfaces, maximizing the cleaning time. Simply spray and wipe clean allowing the foam to work for a few seconds before wiping. Similar to Slide Plastic Cleaner, which is designed to be used mostly on finished plastic parts, new Citra Clean is an excellent cleaner for all surfaces, especially steel molds, dies, and rollers.

Progressive Components Introduces New Standards for Zinc Die Casting

Progressive Components offers Retainer Blocks for zinc die casting spreaders and bushings.  Retainer blocks provide a method of securing commercially available spreaders and bushings in zinc die cast tools.   

Progressive’s blocks are located on the parting line at the entry location of the metal to facilitate the metal flow into the tool. Normally, blocks are custom made for each tool by the tool builder. By utilizing Progressive’s standardized Retainer Blocks, tool builders can cut costs and delivery times. The retainer blocks are made from premium H-13 steel and stress tempered for optimum performance.  They are offered in the following styles:   

• Spreader Retainer Blocks are cone shaped for “spreading” the molten zinc as it enters the tool. There are two different types of spreaders: regular and constant area, and they are available in three sizes.  

• Bushing Retainer Blocks mount opposite the spreader blocks and hold the spreader bushing. Due to the differences between regular and constant area spreaders, there are two different bushing styles. Six sizes are offered to accommodate both bushing styles in all three standard sizes. 

In addition, with zinc die casting, the bushing can either be to one side of the cavities (single) or in the center with cavities on either side (double). Both Progressive’s Spreader and Bushing retainer blocks are available as single or double units. 

Pre-manufactured Porcerax II Vent Pins

Ready to use, these “self venting” inserts are designed to be inserted in problem venting areas. These pins uniquely allow gasses to pass right through the pins but not plastic resin.

Available in 7 or 20 micron average pore sizes, these ready-to-use 35 to 38 HRc inserts are precision ground for press fitting, EDM machined to re-open the pores and then ultrasonic & high pressure cleaned for optimum venting. 

Porcerax II is a sintered porous metal with porosity in the range of 20 to 30% by volume, with an interconnected pore structure that allows trapped gasses to escape directly through the steel.
