Progressive Components Introduces New C-Cores

Progressive Components has unveiled its new, pre-engineered Collapsible Cores, dubbed “C-Cores™”.  The announcement was made on June 19th at NPE 2006.

Progressive recently purchased the assets of Roehr Tool Corporation, an international leader in collapsible core technology, and is now distributing Roehr products.  In addition, it has been announced that Progressive and Roehr are introducing an alternative collapsible core design, the GZ Series.

The RT Series and GZ Series offer toolmakers and processors the following advantages:

  • Simplification of mold designs and elimination of gear/rack systems

  • Save time by purchasing with undercuts already machined

  • Reduction of mold height and press size requirements

Although standard sizes have been defined in the GZ product line, Progressive is working with molders on special applications.

Mold-Masters Introduces the Fusion-Series™

Mold-Masters Limited introduces the new Fusion-Series™. The Fusion-Series™ represents Mold-Masters substantial expansion into products and technology aimed at large part molding.

Ideal for molding components such as interior trim panels, lamp housings, bumper fascia or other large parts, the innovative “drop-in/connect and go” design of the Fusion-Series™ assures quick start-ups and easier operation. Fusion-Series™ hot runner nozzles are mounted to the manifold and pre-assembled prior to installation. The independent temperature control of the front nozzle zone allows for a wider processing window.

Features include nozzles up to 32” (800 mm) in length, bore sizes up to 1” (25 mm), and handling shot weights up to 3500 g per nozzle. The Fusion-Series™ line is available with a variety of gating methods – hot tip, sprue or valve gate. Dual thermocouples (primary & secondary) are utilized for the nozzle and manifold heaters. Utilizing a modular concept, the Fusion-Series™ hot runner system is ideal for the automotive and large part industries.

XADC-Armoloy®: The Best of Two Worlds

Using advanced "Ultradiamond" technology developed by Soviet Union, Military Research Specialists for military and aerospace applications, The Armoloy Corporation® of DeKalb, Illinois has created a new, harder metal coating called XADC-Armoloy®. This new coating eclipses the normal life expectancy of metal surfaces subjected to extreme wear, abrasion and corrosive stress.

XADC-Armoloy® coating, incorporates perfectly spherical and extremely dense "Ultradiamond" composite particulate into the Armoloy® Process in an evenly dispersed form, to achieve hardness measurements exceeding 98Rc. XADC-Armoloy® offers enhanced durability, lubricity, adhesion, and resistance to abrasion surpassing all other known coatings.

XADC-Armoloy® exceeds the boundaries of standard coatings available in today's marketplace without the need for special engineering design or production modifications. A precision coating deposit of .0001/.0003" (0,0025 - 0,0075 microns) is carefully bonded to the basis substrate providing a thin, hard, protective coating with no effects of brittleness in its applied form.
