Progressive Components Announces Next Generation Technology

Progressive’s new ProFile version 6.0 features an upgraded user interface that includes new icons and links to different sections of the program for increased functionality.  It also enables users to have multiple open windows and minimize them to make the most of desktop workspace.  In addition, a custom report generator has been integrated into the already vast list of reporting functions so users can share specific tool information more easily with others.

ProFile 6.0 also includes expanded data exchange capabilities that allow users on different platforms to export data to other press monitoring or purchasing systems. Data can be shared by mapping the unique CounterView® serial number field from within ProFile to the tool information exchange website, ProFileCV.com (a Progressive Components exclusive launched in 2005). This website allows for users around the globe to view tool data such as prints, bills of materials, steel certifications and log in actions related to this tool.

ProfileCV.com also has several security levels so that the mold makers and mold owners view different data or have the ability to upload specific documents. For NPE, Progressive released an upgrade to the site which results in increased visibility and easier user data entry for handheld devices, such as the Treo line of products. Tooling Engineers no longer have to be on a desktop computer to call up critical mold data, making it easier to view prints or other documents supported by their handheld phone or PDA's software out on the shop floor.

Gammaflux Introduces New Mold ID

Gammaflux’s new Mold ID feature provides mold identification capabilities to its Triangulated Control Technology®, or TTC, hot runner temperature control systems.

With this new feature, up to 63 different injection molds can be connected to a single TTC hot runner controller, and the controller can automatically identify the operating parameters for each individual mold.  All operating data for each mold is stored in the controller, and a menu shows operators exactly how each tool needs to be controlled.

This new feature is available on Gammaflux TTC controllers with a PC-based operator panel (touchscreen interface).  Using an Ethernet connection, the TTC connects with a digital input mold reading module.  The recipe can be identified with either a mold key or a cable that attaches to the mold.  Mold ID software is loaded into the TTC to operate this new function.  Existing TTC controllers in the field can be retrofitted to accept Mold ID.

TOOL-TEMP’s TT-188 is a First for Small Temp, Flow Control

TOOL-TEMP’s new TT-188 model sets new standards in the field of controlling molds. The temperature measurement is indicated in 1/10 grades. The new device can be used with water up to 195°F/90°C or with oil up to 300°F/150°C. Temperature deviations are controlled automatically. The electronic flow control measures the actual flow, then displays this value digitally in 1/10 liters and generates automatically a minimum flow, based on the actual situation. If the flow falls below this value, an alarm will be activated.

The flow control works when using water, oil or other liquids, in pressure mode and also in vacuum mode. The unit is also equipped with a leak stopper device, main’s switch, manometer, pre-warning if the tank level is too low, automatic cutout and it also has the ability to have several interfaces.

The user can choose between °Celsius or °Fahrenheit, liters per minute, imperial gallons or American gallons. The controller displays the units that the user programs.  Distribution is available from Switzerland, the U.K. and Ireland.

DataSolid Releases CADdy++ Professional with UGS’ 3D DCM

UGS Corp. and DataSolid of Mönchengladbach, Germany, announced the D-Cubed 3D Dimensional Constraint Manager (3D DCM) component software from UGS is now available in the latest version of DataSolid’s CADdy++™ Professional mechanical CAD system.

The 3D DCM significantly enhances the integrated assembly modeling and motion simulation functionality in CADdy++ Professional. By integrating UGS’ component software, Datasolid is enabling its customers to efficiently position parts in an assembly and then parametrically investigate alternative configurations. Where constraints are used to represent kinematic linkages, the motion of a mechanism can now be interactively investigated. In addition, the 3D DCM’s wide ranging geometry and constraint support coupled with its proven, high performance solving, further enhance user productivity.

With applications in assembly modeling, motion simulation, direct part modeling and 3D sketching; the 3D DCM boosts the productivity of many major CAD systems worldwide.
