A more intelligent approach to PET molds – The new HP-Stack

MHT’s new High Performance Stack (HP-Stack®) was developed for superior mold cooling performance. It contains sophisticated cooling system to provide uniform temperature distribution around the molding surface. HP Stack maintains this low temperature even with very aggressive cycle times.

Its temperature is not affected by accumulated heat from cycle to cycle. The new neck ring and cavity designs bring effective cooling to areas not previously accessible. This prevents thread sinks, flat support ledge defects and parting line deformations. Preforms are dimensionally more stable, ready for earlier demolding and hence more effective post-mold cooling. The new gate design eliminates counterproductive heat transfer away from the nozzle section and focuses only on cooling the gate area of the preform. This allows significant water flow reduction to the gate insert circuitry and contributes to the total energy savings of the new MHT molds. These new HP-stack advances, combined with COOL-MAX® post mold cooling technology, resulted in a cycle time reduction leading in some applications up to a 30% productivity increase.

Priamus Cooperates with Gammaflux

The PRIAMUS Fill & Cool system has already proven itself. The technical advantages of the system such as the automatic fill time optimization or the automatic adjustment of viscosity variations result in high precision and repeatable part dimensions and in consistent and repeatable part weights.

With Gammaflux one of the well-known manufacturers of hotrunner controllers has decided to integrate the benefit of this technology into its TTC hotrunner controller family.  The announcement was made at K 2007.

By integrating the PRIAMUS Fill & Cool system into the Gammaflux TTC Hotrunner Controller only one platform is needed for both systems. This saves considerably space in production and simplifies the operation for the user essentially. At the same time the integrated system is significantly less expensive than the single systems because only one platform – that is computer, screen etc. – must be used.

For PRIAMUS and Gammaflux this means a far-ranging partnership, for all users it means the highest possible economic benefit for all hotrunner applications.

Progressive Components Announces New, Expanded Mold Component Product Lines

Newly introduced are Progressive's Metric Top Locks. Like the popular and widely used metric Side and Guide Locks, the new metric Top Locks provide positive guidance between the cavities and cores. In addition, unequal thermal expansion of the mold halves will not cause these locks to bind up. Five new sizes range between 26mm x 35mm and 45mm x 100mm.

Progressive is further advancing its Collapsible Core offering with the patented GZ-Series C-Cores, which use a straight pin that allows the designer to control the position of the collapsible core and adjust the pin length and the safety ring position as needed.  Additionally,  Progressive's RT-Series C-Cores will see the addition of five new standard sizes, three of which have been designed smaller than the original standard sizes, and two sizes designed larger.

Progressive has also expanded its line of globally available Metric Core Blade Standards for its patented UniLifter®, the most widely-used standard product for molding and releasing undercuts. New sizes include Core Blades in widths of 10 mm x 20mm up to 30mm x 15mm and in lengths up to 400mm.
