Progressive Components’ New ‘Mold Spec’ Aids With Spec Book Development 

Progressive Components has developed a new “Mold Spec Guidelines” template to help molders and moldmakers more easily develop important parameters for tool building and maintenance. 

“Some companies only have a general understanding of preferences but no documentation is maintained, while others may keep it very simple with a two-page document that says, ‘Unless otherwise specified, our molds consist of the following…’,” says Glenn Starkey, president of Progressive Components.  “And that’s better than nothing.  But now we’ve developed an easy-to-use, comprehensive template where all they have to do is fill in the blanks for preferences and practices and then everyone will be current and on the same page for all tooling requirements.”

New Data Extractor Tool from RJG

RJG, Inc. has developed new user software that dramatically simplifies data transfer from the eDART to a Windows PC, for use with the suite of software tools available in the eDART Utilities CD.

This Microsoft Windows based software tool can automatically detect eDART's using an Ethernet crossover cable, and in future releases through an Ethernet hub or switch. Furthermore, the Data Extractor Tool automatically identifies configuration, Cycle and Summary data files on the eDART for easy selection and transfer to the Windows PC. Through an Ethernet crossover cable linked between the PC and the eDART, this software tool can automatically identify Configuration, Cycle, and Summary data files on the eDART for easy selection and transfer to the Windows PC. Following data transfer, users can then utilize the eDART Analyzer software for finite process analysis, or the Auto Correlator tool for determining critical to quality process parameters that can be used for Automated Part Containment.

Moldflow Launches Chinese Version of Moldflow Plastics Insight 6.1 

Moldflow Corporation announced the release of Moldflow Plastics Insight® (MPI®) 6.1 in Simplified Chinese. MPI is the industry's most powerful and widely used plastics design analysis software.  

Ken Welch, executive VP and general manager of Moldflow's Design Analysis Solutions business unit, states, "This release of MPI further validates our commitment to local language support, especially in a market as dynamic as China's."
