Mold-Masters Announces New E-Drive for
Clean Room 

Mold-Masters introduced several new technology advancements and products to the international plastics industry at the K Show in October.  One is the E-Drive™.

“For years customers have asked hot runner suppliers for a clean room actuation solution for valve gates, and now Mold-Masters has delivered a commercially viable solution. Our new E-Drive servo driven valve actuation unit meets the especially demanding requirements of the medical market,” states Bruce Catoen, Mold-Masters VP of Marketing and Business Development.

The E-Drive is designed for high cavitation and precision molding applications in clean room and oil-free environments. Its advanced servo-feedback control ensures correct pin position and eliminates the need for re-adjustment. At just under 0.1 seconds, it boasts the shortest open/close times in the industry, four times faster than the competition and a major advantage for high performance valve gating applications.

BX Hot Sprue Bushing Offers Superior Performance 

The new BX Inch Series Hot Sprue Bushing from Progressive Components is designed to advance beyond previous hot sprue technologies by offering a heater design and thermocouple placement that provides excellent temperature distribution and thermal stability.  The result is superior performance both at start-up and during production, as well as increased reliability and easier maintenance.

Existing tooling will benefit by the replacement of cold sprues, inefficient hot sprues or in applications used to feed cold runner systems. The BX Hot Sprue Bushing is engineered and manufactured for Progressive Components by Mastip™

Delcam Releases Productivity-Packed PartMaker 

Delcam’s PartMaker subsidiary has released version 8.5 of its PartMaker CADCAM software for the programming of CNC mills, lathes, wire EDM equipment, turn-mill centers and Swiss-type lathes.  The new release features a variety of new functionality and enhanced capability all designed to make PartMaker users more productive across its full range of applications.   

The main focus of the release is a significant improvement to commonly-used CAD and CAM functionality in the software.  PartMaker Version 8.5 also marks the introduction of the PartMaker Documentation Wizard, an optional module which allows the user to create, preview and print documents incorporating multiple views.
