Mold-Masters Offers New Shut-off Feature on
Melt-Disk Nozzle 

Mold-Master’s patented Melt-Disk technology – hot tip side entry gating system – has changed the way molders and mold makers think about gating long cylindrical parts.

“After we launched the product in 2006 we found that some customers did not utilize the maximum cavitation of 8 gates within a disk because a single cavity could not be shut-off within the cluster. They did not want to have to shutdown 8 cavities because there was one defective part in the cluster. We now have a solution for this with the introduction of the Melt-Disk shut-off feature,” says Bruce Catoen, Vice President of Product Development and Marketing.

Within the Melt-Disk cluster each nozzle tip now has a manual shut-off feature which can be accessed via the front of the tool. By turning the shut-off 90 degrees any individual gate can be turned on or off. 

OMNI Mold Systems™ Introduces Versa-Frame™  

OMNI Mold Systems has introduced a new version of its “off the shelf” mold bases. The new Versa-Frame™ maintains all the quality that its standard pocketed molds have, but in a more “configurable” design.

These mold bases are a more stripped down version of OMNI’s standard mold bases, allowing the designer the freedom to use custom pockets, while maintaining an “off the shelf” delivery.  

Made in the USA, the Versa-Frame is currently stocked in sizes ranging from 7-7/8 X 7-7/8 up to 9-7/8 X 11-7/8.  The plates are made from pre-hard stainless steel.   

HASCO Extends Range of Flat Steel

HASCO has extended its flat steel range. The P5600 grade has been integrated into the higher-precision F range, giving customers a choice of over 3,000 available sizes. All dimensions are grouped together under one order number, enabling the required ready-to-use sizes to be found easily and quickly.
