D-M-E Announces New LSR Cold Runner

D-M-E Company is expanding its North America product line with the addition of its Cold Runner System, which is designed for molding materials such as Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR), High Temperature Vulcanizing (HTV) silicone rubber, and other elastomers.

D-M-E’s Cold Runner System technology enables the leftover sprue to be minimized and cycle times and setting times to be reduced.

System nozzles are adjustable by volume for optimal filling and each nozzle has a separate piston drive, allowing for further sequential adjustment. Water-cooled nozzles are also available for processing rubbers of varying viscosities.

The D-M-E Cold Runner System can also be accompanied by a valve gate for absolute shut-off; a vacuum unit ensuring very tight tolerances; and a valve gate controller, creating a complete package that fills the needs of this growing market. Systems can be designed and customized as needed for multi-component tools.

NCL Version 9.6 Released

NCCS, the developer of NCL multi-axis machining software for the aerospace, automotive and turbomachinery industry, announces the latest release of NCL Version 9.6. This new version offers more time savings in the generation of complex tool paths.

The latest NCL release delivers a wealth of new capabilities for machining complex components including:

  • New strategies in flow-line milling: New strategies have been added to reduce programming time by allowing the user to automate the machining strategy of NCL. The user has the ability to machine multiple surfaces in a single operation and the option of milling around avoidance surfaces.

  • Feature Recognition: Tactics have been added that allow circular interpolation records to be processed as a single arc motion rather than a series of linear motions. The ability to process as a single motion results in a much quicker simulation of circular records and a more accurate measurement of circular cuts.

  • Improved tool display: New tool displays have been added to the external library file including the shape of the cutter, shank and tool holder.
