New Product Introductions from Mold-Masters 

Accu-Valve™, Mold-Masters pristine valve gating solution, has continued to set standards. The patented melt-disturbance spiral liner used in the system has resulted in industry leading color change results seen in numerous production molds all over the world. Mold-Masters has also made significant advances in large cavitation stack mold design via melt balancing analysis and testing.

With the successful launch of its Fusion-Series™, ideal for the large part and automotive markets, Mold-Masters’ drop-and-go design has now been expanded to its Master-Series product line.  

“The Master-Series Hybrid solution is perfect for smaller shot weights but still requiring a drop-in solution with smaller mold cut-outs and quick start ups. Based on the success of the Fusion-Series we’re confident that this solution appeals to a market that our Fusion-Series was slightly too large for”, says Doug Hugo, Mold-Masters Automotive Business Manager.  

The Master-Series Hybrid system includes Centi and Deci nozzles sizes, from 15-500g shot weights, and utilizes some of the most popular Fusion-Series design features including the innovative shadowed manifold system with single point air/hydraulic and water hook-ups.    

Mastercam Introduces New Solidworks Add-In 

Mastercam plans to demonstrate its new Mastercam for Solidworks Add-In at the upcoming Westec 2008 show at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, CA.  The show opens March 31^st. 

Mastercam for SolidWorks is fully integrated CAM that runs seamlessly in SolidWorks. SolidWorks users can now program their parts directly within SolidWorks using Mastercam’s industry-leading toolpaths and machining strategies.  

Mastercam’s latest release, X2MR2 will also be demonstrated at the show. Stop by to learn about the Mastercam X2 features including:

• The new Peel Milling toolpath moves the tool in and “peels” away material, layer by layer.

• The Operations Manager pane can now float to a different area of the graphics window or to a separate screen when you are working with dual monitors.

• The Create Boundary function greatly expands Mastercam’s toolpath boundary creation, restricting the toolpaths to highly specific areas.

• Many powerful multiaxis enhancements are included in the advanced multiaxis toolpaths.

• Common edge optimization in nesting is now supported.

Heitec: Spacecraft or Edge Gate? 

Heitec Heisskanaltechnik GmbH, available in North America through Technoject Machinery Corp., Bolton, Ontario, recently introduced its new Valve Gate Edge Gate, which is visually similar to a spacecraft. 

This sophisticated, original 3D Hot Runner System for the side gating market makes it possible to edge gate articles or multi-edge gate e.g. from two sides. The system offers excellent processing conditions of a cylindrical valve gate, which means perfect gate quality with side injection on the article. 

The modular construction of various HEITEC component groups grew into a complete hot runner generation. The flat nozzle, as a module, which consists of two flat nozzles in the front area has a heating element and a thermocouple each per shaft and are there-fore separately controlled. These heater and thermocouple elem-ents are replaceable, of course. Also, round nozzles can be used. 

With the SPACE System HEITEC combines the benefits of valve gate technology with the advantages of side gating and all that with a minimum cavity spacing of only 9mm.
