VersaLifter Adds New Options for Designers 

Progressive Components has added the VersaLifter® to its popular range of undercut release solutions.  

Originally developed by Omni Mold Systems, Progressive now serves as the primary global distribution source for this product.  The VersaLifter features support guides that provide smooth sliding action, reducing galling & flexing problems.  Its compact design allows for tighter ejector pin placement.   

This product is in good company with Progressive’s popular UniLifter system, which is a widely used standard, and FlexiCore undercut release component that offers space savings and economy.   

Available in a wide range of sizes, the VersaLifter is manufactured in A-10 steel, which is finish machined and ready for molding detail.

New Touch-Screen Hot Runner Controller

The new Model 357-e from Orycon offers intuitive touch-screen operation, small footprint, manual override to each individual zone and fast set-up to improve productivity and simplify the task of controlling hot runner systems.

A new “fuzzy logic” algorithm identifies the requirements for the characteristics of each zone and power is applied in accordance to the anticipated response.  Line voltage variations are factored into the control parameters, which are Model Predictive rather than P.I.D.  In addition, the mold is monitored for potential problems on a continuous basis; diagnostic conditions are displayed on screen, together with Amp draw, percentage of power used, and other helpful information.

The new controller also continually refines the level of power used at each zone and keeps the resulting values in memory. In the event of thermocouple failure during a production run, the zone is switched automatically to the percentage of power in memory, keeping the cavity in production.

Beaumont Technologies Inc. and INCOE® introduce the first hot runner utilizing BTI's patented MeltFlipper® melt rotation technology. INCOE® and BTI's Opti-Flo® design, incorporated in select INCOE® manifolds, is the first scientifically designed hot runner system providing a homogeneous melt distribution and balanced filling to and across all cavities while avoiding invasive and restrictive mixers. The Opti-Flo® system also replaces the common practice of creating melt temperature variations in the nozzles to balance cavity filling. The result is improved cavity to cavity consistency and product quality.
