Mold-Masters® Offers New Levels of Customer Choice

Mold-Masters’ flagship product line, Master-Series®, is now available with new options for base level applications. Customers will be able to enjoy the proven reliability, perform-ance and support of Mold-Masters’ products and services at a more competitive price.

“Customers molding uncomplicated parts with commodity grades of resins may not need the precision temperature control or complex nozzle geometries offered in our full featured Master-Series® product. But with the support of our technical experts, the customer can now choose which group of features they need for a given application and only pay for technology they need,” says Jonathon Fischer, President and CEO of Mold-Masters Limited.

On the other end of the scale, customers who have more demanding applications like high cavitations, tight pitch, multi-material, filled or high temperature resins, can now select options for high pressure capability, custom nozzle geometries, corrosion resistance, extra sensing options and high temperature wiring.

Delcam to Launch World’s First “Tribrid Modeling”Software

In October, at the TCT Exhibition in Coventry, U.K., Delcam will take CAD software to a new level with the launch of the first product development system to offer "Tribrid Modeling”.  "Tribrid Modeling” is a new version of Delcam’s PowerSHAPE Pro design software that adds triangle modeling to the combination of surface and solid modeling currently offered in many existing packages as "hybrid modeling”.  The extended range of functionality is ideal for the re-engineering of existing products into improved or bespoke designs.

“Tribrid Modelling offers a better way of working for all companies developing new variants from existing designs, especially those making products that need to be personalized for a particular customer,” claimed Delcam’s CAD Product Marketing Manager, Chris Lawrie.  "The combination of solid modeling, surface modeling and triangle modeling provides a unique design system for these companies.  Having all the different modeling techniques in a single package reduces the need to transfer data between multiple programs and so streamlines the whole product development process.”

Rapid Prototyping Process to Produce Blow
Molded Prototypes

The German firm Stratasys GmbH has developed an innovative additive prototyping process to manufacture extruded blow molded prototypes. This new technology that is commercialized under the trade name “Fused deposition modeling” (FDM®) is based on the use of molds made from polycarbonate (PC) instead of machined metallic molds. Such a polycarbonate FDM® mold can integrate the pinch-off, flash pocket, cooling system, and mounting plate typical of a standard blow mold. According to Stratasys, its new technology allows to produce blow molded parts with no wear and deformation.
