ROMER
Rolls Out OMEGA Reverse
ROMER Inc. announced the rollout of the OMEGA portable measuring arm, their most economical tool for multi-purpose non-contact measurement to date. The OMEGA system is mega-packaged for 3D scanning applications such as reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, and non-contact inspection. A complete package includes the OMEGA articulating arm, the R-Scan line laser scanning probe, and PC-DMIS Reshaper software. This entry-level, yet full featured solution is priced at $56,000 (model 2025/9 foot size), and is offered in three additional sizes: 2018 (6 foot, 2030 (10 foot) and 2036 (12 foot). The seven-axis arm is comprised of advanced carbon fiber and aluminum construction, which translates into a very lightweight shop floor metrology device. The OMEGA series presents a new series of 3D portable arms that are fast, intuitive and promote measurement without constraints. Optimized for reverse engineering, the R-Scan non-contact laser scanner offers patented infinite rotation for scanning hard to reach areas. The OMEGA system also features large capacity inspection, repeatability, automatic color recognition, and real-time display of point clouds and point data.
New CoroMill 345 Brings a New Dimension to Multi-edge Face Milling
With the additional pitch alternative (HX), CoroMill 345 will increase the metal removal capacity further by more teeth in cut. As a new-generation, mature 45-degree facemills, CoroMill 345 is equipped with double-sided inserts having four edges on each side. Shims with strategic support islands to match insert rake-faces provide full cutting edge backing and insert-seat stability. A more positive axial inclination at small depths of cut offers a soft cutting action with low axial pressure through cutting forces on the work piece. A more upright part of the edge comes successively into action as the depth becomes larger, giving the insert a more substantial structure for high security, especially in tougher cuts. CoroMill 345 will fit a number of different machine tools from smaller low-powered machines to larger, powerful ones - from Machining Centers ISO 30, 40 and 50 to Multi-task machines. The milling cutters will be available in diameters 40 – 250 mm.
