New Dovetail Collapsible Core from Roehr Tool

Roehr Tool Corporation, the global leader in Collapsible Core technology, has expanded its product line with the addition of the new Dovetail Collapsible Core.

The Dovetail Collapsible Core offers the following benefits:

  • Gradual release from undercut

  • Removable while the mold is in the press

  • Large, robust segments

  • Compact height

  • Reliable shut-off with front half of mold

  • Customizable collapse angles

    • Shorter stroke on mold staging, deeper undercuts and taller parts

  • Constructed from high quality materials including A2 steel.

“With our new Dovetail Collapsible Core technology, customers are able to design and build a mold that requires only “Mold Open, Mold Close” to operate,” explains Dave Helenius, senior applications engineer at Roehr.  “In most cases there is no need for special core pull circuits or even the common ejector plate sequence. The potential cycle time reduction is enormous.”

New RJG In-Mold Temperature Sensors

RJG, Inc. introduced its new in-mold temperature sensors at NPE2009 last week.

The 1mm Flush Mount Temperature Sensor is a miniaturized K type cavity temperature sensor designed for application where small size and fast reaction is important.  The 1mm temperature sensor is available in both machinable (TS-FM01M-K) and non-machinable (TS-FM01-K) sensor tips.

The 1.5mm Spring Loaded Temperature Sensor is a miniaturized K type temperature sensor designed for application where a witness mark is to be avoided.  The TS-SL01.5-K can be mounted behind the cavity surface ensuring no marks are left on the part and avoiding flash problems sometimes experienced with some materials.   Its removable feature also allows for easy maintenance.

D-M-E’s LSR Cold Runner Brings Cycle Time Reduction

D-M-E Company featured its proven Cold Runner System, designed for molding materials such as Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR), High Temperature Vulcanizing (HTV) silicone rubber, and other elastomers, at NPE2009. The system offers economic manufacturing and materials advantages in the processing of these elastomers and enables the leftover sprue to be minimized and cycle times and setting times to be reduced.

System nozzles are adjustable by volume for optimal filling and each nozzle has a separate piston drive, allowing for further sequential adjustment. Water-cooled nozzles are also available for processing rubbers of varying viscosities.

The D-M-E Cold Runner System can also be accompanied by a valve gate for absolute shut-off; a vacuum unit ensuring very tight tolerances; and a valve gate controller, creating a complete package that fills the needs of this growing market. Systems can be designed and customized as needed for multi-component tools.
