ADDITIONAL PRODUCT NEWS RJG, Inc. Releases Balance Viewer Software
RJG’s new Balance Viewer software provides a tool for users to visually balance hot runner manifolds. Most molders try to adjust the balance by running a series of fill-only parts and adjusting the tip temperatures until the parts are about the same size or weight. With an eDART process controller and cavity pressure or cavity temperature sensors in every cavity of a mold, you can use the data to balance the tip temperatures. The eDART™ computes cavity fill times that directly reflect the fill imbalance. This optional software tool uses the data to make the visual process of balancing much simpler. You look at the high or fast filling cavities and lower those temperatures while raising the tip temperatures for the lower bars until they all come into balance. Selection buttons on the software allow you to check the balance of other parts of the process: filling and packing, pressurization and mold temperature. If the mold has only temperature sensors (no pressure) you can see the balance of the time to reach the sensor and the mold temperature at that point. The viewer tool automatically sets up and scales the bars for the number and range of sensors found. Once a tool is balanced any odd behavior, such as material build-up or clogging, can initiate a warning system and will not be masked by automatic control adjustments
INCOE Introduces QUICK-FLO™ Hot Runner Systems for Hi-Cavitation Molding
QF systems are used specifically for Caps/Closures, Medical Disposables, Pharmaceutical, and Packaging applications which demand maximum output, repeatable part quality and superior cosmetics. Nozzles are available in three popular sizes with flow channel diameters of 3mm, 5mm and 8mm, and with shot ranges of 3g-375g. Gating options include Thermal Tip and Valve Gate with tips manufactured using highly conductive materials for optimal thermal response. For added processing value, QF systems that use Opti-Flo® manifolds with the Beaumont Technologies Inc. patented* MelfFlipper® technology, can provide improved cycle times and processing capability. QF systems are packaged in standard cavity layouts common to the hi-cavitation markets, and they are to be sold as complete injection halves. INCOE®’s M Series of temperature controls are also available for added productivity and performance.
Priamus Fill With Automatic Hot Runner Analysis
Cavity temperature sensors placed in the cavity check how the flow behaviour of the melt changes when the individual nozzle temperatures have been increased respectively or decreased by a certain value. The result of this analysis shows at a glance to what extent the individual nozzles’ sensitivities differ and allows a conclusion of the limits of the particular hot runner. The automatic hot runner analysis is a valuable supplement to the Priamus Fill hot runner balancing and a most useful tool for production.
New Falcon Video Measuring Microscope
Vision Engineering has packed massive technical capabilities into a compact, small footprint system, suitable for shop-floor quality control and manufacturing inspection applications, yet delivering performance you would expect to find on systems many times the price. Falcon employs high resolution indexed zoom optics (up to 100x magnification) to provide enhanced component edge definition, with a unique indexed camera iris control to reduce depth of field, increasing accuracy and repeatability of Z-axis results (a common complaint of video systems). Advanced features designed to simplify operation and increase accuracy include motorized Z-axis control and controllable quadrant LED illumination. Vision Engineering’s renowned precision measuring stages provide a measurement capacity of up to 150 x 150 x 115mm (X, Y, Z) and include factory-completed NLEC calibration, as standard. And with a powerful, yet intuitive touch-screen color display, the built-in simplicity means that expensive training costs are minimized, with automatic video edge detection ensuring reproducible measurement results, irrespective of the operator.
PURE EZE Mold Release Receives UL Recognition for 94V-0 Resins
PURE EZE works with all thermoplastic resins, polyolefins, polycarbonates, rubber and some epoxies, making it an excellent, all-purpose release. Formulated with a highly-refined mineral oil, it is colorless, odorless, tasteless and will not change color or turn rancid over time. Containing no ozone depleting chemicals, and no chlorinated solvents, PURE EZE is safe for solvent-sensitive plastics, will not interfere with bonding, and is ultra-sonic welding compatible. It is also food approved and ideal for medical applications.
OptiCheck™ Vision Inspection and Gauging System
The OptiCheck system introduces a new level of vision-based quality management and process monitoring that takes into consideration the day-to-day variations in the production of plastic containers. The OptiCheck system offers a versatile, easy to operate and expandable approach that is compatible with frequent product change overs, color changes and limited line space. Unlike many other vision-based inspection products, the system is designed specifically for bottle measurement and inspection applications as well as the process control needs of the plastic container industry. This system offers a robust and versatile set of proven bottle-specific inspections as well as lighting and measurement routines suitable for the wide range of containers produced for the pharmaceutical, beverage, food, household chemical and personal care industries. In addition, the OptiCheck product is configurable to include finish/seal surface inspection module, sidewall inspection module or a combination thereof.
